Probate & Estate Administration

int slide20Following the passing of a loved one, family members and friends, while grief-stricken, are left with the difficult and emotional task of seeing to the administration of the deceased's estate. At the law firm of Attorney Lonnie L. Simmons, we are compassionate and show great concern for the delicate and sensitive nature of the matter. While the probate process can be time-consuming, difficult, and expensive, our experienced team of legal professionals works closely with family members to assist a smooth and pleasant transfer of the deceased's assets and estate.

Attorney Lonnie L. Simmons handles the various aspects of probate and estate administration from start to finish, including opening the estate, presenting and validating the will, preparing an inventory of assets, handling creditor claims, filing reports and tax returns, and discharging any other responsibilities a personal representative might handle. He works closely with trustees and personal representatives to prepare disclosures and accountings that both protect them and minimize conflicts and misunderstandings with heirs and beneficiaries. In addition, he handles ancillary probates which involve Florida real property owned by an out-of-state decedent.

  • family settlement agreements
  • non-probate transfers
  • preparing accountings for assets and income
  • probate
